Welcome to Saffron Art Gallery. Saffron is a contemporary fine art gallery based in Battle since 1999. Directors Simon & Liz Honey are passionate about promoting both established and emerging artists living in and around the South East region. Both are equally dedicated to providing a relaxed, friendly and informal venue in which to exhibit the artwork and the gallery environment reflects this ideal. The gallery space was recently renovated and extended to create a light, roomy and contemporary gallery, offering both rolling and dedicated solo/group exhibitions.
The majority of Saffron artists are based in London and the South East, enabling the gallery to specialise in the vast talent base in the region. We have recently introduced new 3D exhibition facilities to compliment our usual original paintings. Everything displayed on our website is available to view in person at the gallery and we would be delighted to welcome you. Saffron is part of the Contemporary Fine Art Partnership, organisers of the inaugural Battle Contemporary Fine Art Fair. The launch event takes place on 18-26 September 2010 at the newly built Exhibition & Conference Hall at the Powdermills Hotel in Battle. The venue is currently in the final stages of completion, allowing us to design in contemporary fittings and lighting to enhance the exhibition space and create a white space gallery environment.
Up to 100 artists and 10 students will be showcased in a selected juried show. There will be 10 awards in various categories including Best Overall Artist, Best Painting or Original Print and Best Sculpture or 3D and the prize fund totals £5000.
